    Smarter Winterization for Smarter Operations

    V3 2026
    Intrepid Group Technical Team

Terrapin's engineered winterization products are reshaping how industrial facilities protect their instrumentation and critical valves. Designed to eliminate installation headaches and improve operational safety, Terrapin's modular solutions deliver heat where it matters, without the bulk or complexity of traditional enclosures.

Modular Enclosures with Standard Heat Trace

Terrapin's ThermaGuard™ Modular Enclosure is the only enclosure in its class to fully integrate standard heat trace across the system. Unlike rigid traditional boxes that limit access and require risky manual adjustments in tight spaces, the modular design allows for:

ThermaGuard enclosure open view showing integrated heating elements
ThermaGuard open view with heating elements
ThermaGuard enclosure showing heating coil distribution
    Integrated heating coil distribution

    Simple Retrofits and New Installs

Instruments can be plumbed and calibrated with Terrapin's patented manifold with engineered preset holes designed specifically for a double block and bleed set up before the enclosure is added. The balance of the instrument shell assembles around the manifold to create one solid enclosure.

    Reduced Downtime

Swap or service without taking devices offline.

    Ergonomic Safety

Designed to protect knuckles and hands during installs.

    Built to Last

With integrated tongue-and-groove seals and thick ASA plastic walls (no UV stabilizer needed), Terrapin's enclosures outperform traditional designs in thermal retention and durability.

    Expandability

Terrapin's expandable enclosure system allows for flexibility in size with widths from 20", 29" to 38", made of Glass Reinforced Polyester (GRP) with ASA plastic gland plates or windows which are plug and play into Terrapin's preset enclosure cut-outs and bolt pattern.

The gland plates provide safe cutting areas with ASA plastic with no long glass fiber that are in the GRP shell for maximum structural stability at temperatures from -60 °C to 140 °C.

Flexible Heated Blanket and Metal Frame Solutions

Terrapin's heated blanket and metal frame systems offer a smarter alternative to traditional blankets that never fit quite right and once removed by operations, are often not re-installed properly.

    • Easy install, reinstall and access. Ensuring valves, PSVs, flow meters and other critical equipment remain operational at -40 °C while allowing operations access to the equipment when necessary.
    • Lock-in design. The frame heater system allows for the entire heater and bottom blanket section to lock into place, with the top being removable allowing easy access to the instrument, root valve, PSV, while keeping the frame of the system installed.
    • Maximized heating output. Historically, with small valves or instrument manifolds, it's difficult to apply enough heater cable directly onto the system. The frame heater allows for 10 to 12 feet of heater cable applied to maximize heating output, up to 70°C in -40°C ambient conditions, all in a uniform and easy to remove/replace bolt-on system when maintenance is required.

    Backplate Heater Systems for Cabinets

Terrapin's Backplate Enclosure Heaters transform cabinets with drop-in winterization solutions:

    • Uniform heat distribution using self-regulating cable.
    • Plug-and-play setup for field teams with no redesign or complex routing.
